Overview
In this SCADpro sponsored project, we were challenged by CBS Sports to deliver a full package of updated motion graphics for World's Strongest Man, showcasing the competition in a new light
Brighter, bolder, and bigger, and more sophisticated with the goal of being both international and intergenerational.
In a 19-person team, we ideated, designed, modeled, and animated high impact visuals in less than 10 weeks. The deliverables included an open sequence, event front ends, player front ends, bump ins, bump outs, and buttons.

My Role
As one of the lead motion designers, I assisted in concept ideation, graphic design, 2D animation, planning, and mentorship in overseeing the production process.
Final Broadcast Package
Process
The Beginning
It all started with a brief and meeting the client for the first time. And that was when we discovered we would be producing a broadcasting package for WSM and then receiving initial ideas and suggestions from the creative directors of CBS Sports.
After that meeting, we came together as a group, formed a plan, and in two weeks we creating 8 different concepts to pitch to our client.
Concept Refinement
After our first presentation to the client, they decided that concept 4, Garage Collage, was the hero, while also wanting to combine bits of a few others to enhance it.
We then went into more specific ideation for the opening, front ends, bumps, and buttons. In our next presentation to CBS Sports we presented the below concepts. They included refined moodboard, storyboards, motion tests, and type suggestions.
More Concept Refinement
Moving forward, we were asked to revise once again and focus and rework our package concepts and design. We at first thought of the designs as 2D but when we got deeper into the process we then turned to the help of 3D to keep it consistent with our opening sequence.
Conclusion
This project was constant refinement and experimentation, but in the end, our final package was exactly what we set out to do. Not only were we happy, but CBS Sports were too and plan on using our package for the next WSM.
